Naseer Shamma opens the Arabic Music Days festival leading an ensemble of acclaimed artists performing his own compositions for string instruments from various musical traditions. Shamma for a forth consecutive term serves as curator of what has become a popular event in Berlin.

About The Event
Naseer Shamma is back in Berlin with a unique musical orientation that brings together renowned musicians from across the east and west. Aytac Dogan on the Qanoun from Turkey, Kurdish percussionist Hussein Zahawwy, Iranian musician Ali Ghamsari on the Tar, Giorgos Manolakis from Greece playing the Bazooki and Jorge Bezzera on the Brazilian drums.
The performance is set to be the opening ceremony of the Arabic Music Days 2020 festival taking place at the Pierre Boulez Saal in central Berlin. Shamma who curates the festival each year has produced a line up of musical performances based on contemporary arabic composers such as Bachar Zarkan and Qoutayba al Neaimi.
